Welcome to Grange First School
Thank you for considering Grange First School for your child.
We are always very proud to show new parents around our school and to answer all of your questions. However, due to Covid-19 restrictions we feel we cannot give face to face tours this term. We are busy creating a video presentation about the school which you will be able to watch here on the website.
Virtual meeting with Mr Ward: We would also like to hold some virtual question and answer sessions with our headteacher Mr Ward. If you are interested in meeting with Mr Ward and finding out more about the school, please phone the school office from 3rd November. You will be then emailed out a link for one of our meetings this year.
We hope that this website will provide you with much of the information you will need to help you find out more about our school. For advice on policies and procedures please look in the Parents Info and Our School pages. To gain a real feel for life in Nursery and Reception and across Grange First School please take a look at the Twitter accounts and Galleries.
Please look at our current parents' comments to see what they say about the school.
Parents who are interested in applying for a place for Reception or Nursery 2021-22 are invited to contact the school to arrange a visit.
We welcome visits to the school Nursery from January 2021.
For more information about the Nursery please look at the Nursery page in this section.

Newcastle City Council’s School Admission Procedures and Information
In-Year Admissions: We invite all parents interested in applying for a place at Grange first to come and visit our school. Parents who wish to make an in-year application for a Newcastle school must apply using Newcastle City Council’s ‘In Year application form’. For In Year Transfer information go to www.newcastle.gov.uk/admissions or ask for a form from the school office. We consider each application using our admissions policy and current waiting lists. A place is offered, if there is a vacancy, to the applicant at the top of the waiting list. If we cannot offer you a place you will be notified by letter.
Further information about applying for a school place, admission criteria or transferring schools during an academic year can be found on the Local Authority web-page ‘School Admissions’. Information can be found on the Local Authority website about previous cohorts and admission information
There is a right for people to object about the policy to the Schools Adjudicator (OSA). See the Schools Adjudicator website for more information on how to do this.
The Newcastle City Council website at www.newcastle.gov.uk contains all further information.
