Welcome to our Eco School Page

We are very proud of all of the work we do at our school to ensure our environment is sustainable.

Grange children take pride in their school and the grounds and understand the part we all play in protecting it and the wider world.

Here are some of the ways Grange children are Eco-Friendly:

  • We are local Cycle to School champions in Vive Le Velo and the Big Pedal (Look how full our bike sheds are!)
  • Our Eco-Warriors champion environmental activites all around the school
  • We recycle paper and plastics
  • We remind each other (and the teachers!) to turn off lights and computers
  • Our gardening club is making our grounds bird friendly as well as planting flowers and vegetables for us all to enjoy
  • We are working with the Friends of Gosforth Park to develop a new wildflower area
  • We won the Gold Medal for best school grounds in 2014!
  • Each class has a raised bed to grow vegetables in
  • In Forest school we learn all about respecting and looking after nature
  • We have been working with the environment agency to learn about flooding and they helped us build our Forest School!
  • Our parents created Drive and Stride to help us walk to school safely
  • In class we learn about the environment in our country and around the world
