Welcome to EYFS

Our vision for learning at Grange First School

Our school vision is to create an outstanding learning environment in which all of our children are enthusiastic, creative and happy learners with the confidence to express themselves and their ideas and develop their many individual talents.

At Grange First School we want to create an enriched Curriculum of enhanced breadth and depth that ensures ‘every child feels clever every day’. We aim to offer an education that embraces and values children from all backgrounds and that draws on the strengths and experiences of all of our families. We believe every child is unique and has the right to learn in a safe, nurturing environment rooted in mutual respect.

We believe that our curriculum should open doors to new opportunities, ideas and experiences and, above all, promote curiosity and a thirst for lifelong learning. When our children leave us at the end of year 4 they will have the knowledge and skills to equip them for the next stage of learning.

We recognise that the Early Years have a crucial and unique place in a child's development.  We endeavour to provide an engaging, stimulating and appropriately challenging provision for all learners using a carefully designed curriculum that responds to the needs and interests of our children.

We strive to foster a love of learning and a natural curiosity, recognising the importance of allowing children to take risks, problem-solve and experience the awe and wonder of their world and the world of others.

Oracy and a growing grasp of vocabulary are at the heart of our curriculum. We aspire to develop an environment rich in quality language through valuable interactions, a love of reading and regular opportunities for conversation and discussion. We pride ourselves in listening to children and those who care for them, recognising and appreciating the contribution of parents to their child’s learning journey.

We believe that adult supported learning, sitting alongside independent and experimental play will prepare our children for the next stage of their education.
